This sunrise Seaside Park beach picnic engagement session with Kelsey and Ned was a long time coming, but so worth the wait! We had orginally planned to have their beach session at sunset, but after a few reschedules due to the weather and a nasty cold, we finally settled on this beautiful morning in August. I left my house at 2:30am to arrive in time for the sunrise. I ended up getting to the beach early and decided to scout the area and just enjoy this part of Jersey that I usually don’t get to see since I live up north. The drive was 100% worth it though. The sunrise was so breathtaking and peaceful (I couldn’t stop staring at it!). This felt like the perfect vibe for Kelsey and Ned’s engagement photos.
They started off the session with a seaside beach picnic. Everything was blue and white which was so cute as these are their wedding colors. Picnics have been super popular during my sessions this year and I absolutely love it! After they enjoyed their picnic together, we moved down the beach, closer to the water for some more portraits. When we glanced back at their picnic set up, there were at least fifty seagulls enjoying their cheese board! Once we headed back to the picnic, everything had been devoured. We all couldn’t stop laughing and the seagulls clearly had a hearty breakfast!
Kelsey and Ned are so cute together and they’re so excited to get married next year at The Conservatory at the Fairgrounds, which is one of my favorite local venues in North Jersey! At the end of their session, Kelsey and Ned wanted to get into the water for a few shots. This was so much fun! Then since the session was local to Kelsey and Ned’s home, they were both able to head into work right after! That’s honestly such a great aspect of a sunrise session, once you’re all done, you have the whole day ahead of you.
