I am so excited to share Rachel and Cowan’s Stokes State Forest engagement session today! These two are the absolute cutest together and they even brough their two pups, Koda and Reese along with them for their session!
I first met Rachel back in 2021 at The Walpack Inn Wedding opening event! For those who don’t know, The Walpack Inn is actually where Dan and I got married this past May! At the event, I only met Rachel and Cowan’s sister, but Rachel followed me on Instagram. I crossed my fingers that she’d reach out once she was engaged. When the day came that she inquired with me, I was so excited that I was available for their date! I was actually fully booked out for October 2024 weddings, but I decided to take on one more for them.
A forest engagement session was perfect for these two and their dogs. There was so much space for them to frolick around in the greenery and have fun. Their one dog, Reese, wanted so badly to jump into the lake, as she LOVES water! We didn’t tempt Reese too long though. After some photos around the lake, we all headed to a special spot in the forest that Rachel and Cowan found together.
During their forest walk, we came along an epic waterfall and snapped a few shots down by the water’s edge.
This session felt super nostalgic for Rachel and Cowan because they were hiking to a lookout at Fiddler’s Elbow with their dogs when Cowan proposed! During the proposal, their friends were actually hiding in the bushes nearby and the dogs sniffed them out! They toasted with champagne and went home to find a surprise engagement party happening there with their closest friends.
Rachel and Cowan had their wedding on October 5th, 2024 and I CANNOT wait to share photos from their gorgeous fall wedding day! Stay tuned!
